Woodland Welcomes new Assistant Principals to the team!
To provide additional support to the students and staff at Woodland Middle School, two new Assistant Principal positions were added, and one Assistant Principal vacancy was filled. Joining the team at WMS this year is Mr. Derrick Williamson, Ms. Lourdes Marrero, and Mr. Robert Taterka. Each new AP brings diverse and extensive educational experiences to #LifeintheW and Woodland is excited to welcome them to our team!

Woodland Dual Language Teachers are partnering with the Warren Newport Public Library to bring you storytelling, singing, dancing, and crafts in Spanish.
There are a few sessions left! No registration necessary, just drop in.

Thank you for the great questions and thoughtful conversation at the first Superintendent Meet and Greet! We met Tuesday afternoon at the Grandwood Park Park District and talked about Safety, Belonging, the new Strategic Plan, PBIS, Technology and Social Emotional Learning - among other things.

We need your help! We are creating another AWESOME Woodland float for the Gurnee Days parade, and we want to get our Wildcats involved.
Last year staff members and families "adopted an animal" for the Woodland Zoo (second picture), and this year we are creating a Rock and Roll float!

Officer Hansen stopped by Wildcat Summer Adventures for a meet and greet with students. We learned all about what a School Resource Officer (SRO) does, and the students had so many fun questions for her. Thank you Officer Hansen and the Gurnee Police Department for being such great community partners!
The Board of Education approved the hiring of Mr. Jared Reardon as the new principal of Woodland Elementary. Jared comes to Woodland with six years of elementary administrative experience, including serving the past three years as assistant principal of W.C. Petty Elementary School in Antioch School District 34, as well as an elementary school principal in Lockport, IL. Mr. Reardon lives in the district, and he is excited to join the #LifeintheW team starting on July 3, 2023.

The Board of Education approved the hiring of three Assistant Principals at Woodland Middle School to fill one vacancy, and the two additional positions that were approved earlier this year. A warm Woodland welcome to Lourdes Marrero, Derrick Williamson, and Robert Taterka.
Woodland Administrators took a celebration tour across the district to surprise Woodland retirees at their office or in their classroom with gifts and well wishes. Our summer adventure Wildcats have arrived and they are ready for a great day! When the students arrived, they made their way to the cafeteria to meet their teachers. Plenty of Woodland staff and administrators on hand to greet our summer friends and help them find their table.
