Wildcat Summer Adventures are bringing our students together! Ms. Horques’ 4th grade Dual Language class recently visited Ms. Matienzo’s Kindergarten classroom to share stories with our youngest Wildcats. The 4th graders were thrilled to be storytellers, and the Kindergarteners loved spending time with the big kids! #lifeinthew #wildcatsummeradventures

Volcanoes exploded in the summer school classroom— along with curiosity and fun! Our students learned all about volcanoes through hands-on creation and experimentation. #LifeintheW

Wildcat Summer Adventures: Boat Float Challenge! 🛥 Our Wildcats got creative and put their engineering skills to the test by building boats out of tin foil, popsicle sticks, and pipe cleaners. The catch? They needed to be tested to see if they could float... while holding ten pennies! #LifeintheW #wildcatsummeradventures

Beach theme at Wildcat Summer Adventures! Students explored sand, water, and learned words like olas, marea, mar, playa, cubeta y pala, protector solar (waves, tide, beach, pail and shovel, and sunscreen). 😎 #LifeintheW

Art class + creative Wildcats = a great day at Wildcat Summer Adventures! Our students crafted dragon eyes out of clay in art class and they turned out to be true masterpieces! 💚

Summer school students were off to a roll last week using their STEM skills to make marble runs. They worked together with cardboard and popsicle sticks to create some truly marble-ous designs! #LifeInTheW

With so much excitement at the end of the year, we still have a few highlights to post even though school is out for the summer. Here is a throwback to a mid-May field trip... 7th Grade WMS students had a great time exploring art, science, and local history at Kenosha Public Museum in Wisconsin. It was a fun and educational field trip full of curiosity and discovery. Thank you to Mrs. Monterroso, Ms. Morey, and Mr. Aablouche for sharing the photos! #LifeintheW

Before the school year ended, Ms. Wilinski fixed, cleaned, and operated an old cotton candy machine at Elementary to surprise teacher with a special treat! Things did get a bit sticky but the smiles made it worth it 💚🍭

Congratulations to Lavonna Garner and Tanya Abbey for winning a Distinguished Service Award from INSPRA! The Distinguished Service Celebration recognizes individuals and groups throughout the state who partner with their school communications office to serve as ambassadors for public education and champions of students and staff. Ms. Abbey and Ms. Garner are tireless in their efforts to spread the word about the Parent Mentor Program and all of the ways our Parent Mentors contribute to #LifeintheW. Field Day at Intermediate! Our Intermediate Wildcats were able to celebrate field day and the last day of school out in the sun. They played games, danced, hung out with friends, and cooled off with popsicles in the shade! What a great way to say “bye” to school and “hello” to summer 🐯☀️😎

I shared my story of growing up with parents who didn’t have this opportunity, and reminded them that every step forward is also for them.
