Hidden Gem Alert! 💎📣🚨
Have you heard of Woodland's Saturday Study Hall and Homework Help program? On Saturday mornings, all Wildcats have access to FREE tutoring and mentorship. Students can work one-on-one with Woodland teachers, or in small groups with their peers to complete homework, study for a test, get help on a project, have someone proofread their paper, practice speaking Spanish, work through a math concept that is giving them trouble, play educational games, and whatever else your Wildcat needs!
Some students come every week because this has become such a beneficial part of their routine, and some Wildcats only come when they need a quiet place to work on extra homework or study. Some of our students sign up when their parents can't help them with a certain subject, and some have joined us on Saturday morning when they are trying to catch up after missing a few days of school. Whatever the reason, everyone is welcome!

October is Disability Awareness Month and Intermediate is celebrating with our (dis)Ability & Inclusion Assemblies.

We were honored to welcome speakers from the Lake County Centers for Independent Living (LCCIL), who shared their personal stories about living with both visible and invisible disabilities.

Students learned how our guests navigated school, made friends, pursued their dreams, and lived life to the fullest. Thank you for showing our Wildcats that everyone, despite our differences, has unique strengths and abilities.

AWS (Amazon Web Services) is currently experiencing an outage, which may be affecting the functionality of the app, BusWhere.
We recommend that students arrive at the bus stop at least 5–10 minutes before their scheduled time and not rely solely on the app for updates, as noted in the student handbook and Transportation's webpage.
Thank you!

Today is National Custodian Appreciation Day. Please join us in thanking our incredible Woodland custodians!
Our custodial team works tirelessly every single day to keep our schools clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and families. From classrooms and hallways, to cafeterias and gyms, their hard work allows our Wildcats to learn and grow in a healthy, comfortable space. Please take a moment to show your appreciation for the custodians who help keep Woodland running! This is #LifeintheW

Happy National Custodian Day Oct 2 2025
October is National Principals Month, where we have the opportunity to recognize dedicated school leaders for the important role they play in our Woodland learning community. The celebration will last all month long because in Illinois, Principal Appreciation Week is October 20–24, and Principal Appreciation Day is Friday, October 24.

This month, we are celebrating the hard work, leadership, and never-ending support our principals provide every single day. From guiding our staff, to inspiring our students, to connecting with families, our principals are key to success in #LifeintheW!

Please join us in showing your appreciation for the countless ways they make a difference in our schools and in the lives of our Wildcats. #ThankAPrincipal

Thank you for attending the first Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) meeting of the year! We had a great turnout to hear from Martha Lucía Aristizábal, a bilingual therapist from Warren Township Youth and Family Services. The topic was “How to help your children prepare for the start of the school year.” While the adults were engaging in the discussion, students were busy crafting with Woodland Dual Language teachers! Thank you to the United Way, Community Trust Credit Union, Starbucks, Jewel Osco, Waukegan Park District and Tacos El Norte for donating prizes and materials for this event. #LifeintheW
