JA Town: Mock Interviews

When: Wednesday, January 7th & Thursday, January 8th, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: Woodland Middle School
What: What are JA Town Mock Interviews?

JA BizTown mock interviews are a core part of the Junior Achievement program, simulating real job interviews for students where volunteers ask questions about skills, interests, and teamwork, preparing them to learn career readiness through hands-on practice with resumes, applications, and professional conduct like eye contact and clear speech.

Key Aspects of JA BizTown Mock Interviews:

  • Purpose: To give students a practical taste of job seeking, build confidence, and connect their strengths to potential careers.

  • Process: Students practice writing resumes/applications and then face interviewers (often community volunteers/professionals) asking relevant questions.

  • Interview Questions: Focus on personality, school/work habits, teamwork, and future goals, like "What are your hobbies?", "Do you prefer working alone or with others?", or "Why do you want this job?".

Skills Taught: Professionalism (handshake, eye contact, clear speech), honesty, active listening, and showcasing positive attributes like creativity or being a team player.

Parent and Community Volunteers are needed. Sign up to help support our Wildcats.
