Classroom Visit: Heeres Hawks!
These little learners at Woodland Primary work hard each morning on learning letter sounds, practicing writing letters, counting by 5's and 10's, finding patterns, and so much more. Then they got up for a movement break as they practiced counting to 100 along with a silly video to get their wiggles out. #LifeintheW

The Great Kindergarten Pumpkin Investigation in Ms. O'Neil, Ms. Beaudry, Ms. Bensch, and Ms. Knapp's classes! The students estimated the number of lines, the circumference, and the height and weight of their pumpkins - then collected data to see how close they were. They also made a guess about if their pumpkin would float or sink and had a great time dunking their pumpkin in a bin of water to see who was right! Thank you to the parent/family volunteers who helped guide the investigation at each table. #LifeintheW
We love to see students up and out of their seats to expand learning beyond the classroom! These WMS English Language Arts students are observing images from a graphic novel and taking note of examples of foreshadowing. #LifeintheW
Thank you to Ms. Thomas for sharing these photos from a day in the life of a Wildcat 🤩

Thank you to the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile for partnering with the Woodland Health Office to make sure our students have everything they need for a safe and healthy school year! #LifeintheW

Here are just a few photos from the Primary Halloween Parades and Parties. Adorable costumes and fun crafts/games throughout the school. Thank you to the many wonderful parent volunteers who helped make the parties a success!

Thank you to 62nd District State Representative Laura Faver Dias and Fremont SD 79 Superintendent Dr. Trish Kocanda for meeting with us to discuss possible solutions to the inequalities in Woodland’s Evidence-Based Funding formula. #LifeintheW
Hidden Gem Alert! 💎📣🚨
Have you heard of Woodland's Saturday Study Hall and Homework Help program? On Saturday mornings, all Wildcats have access to FREE tutoring and mentorship. Students can work one-on-one with Woodland teachers, or in small groups with their peers to complete homework, study for a test, get help on a project, have someone proofread their paper, practice speaking Spanish, work through a math concept that is giving them trouble, play educational games, and whatever else your Wildcat needs!
Some students come every week because this has become such a beneficial part of their routine, and some Wildcats only come when they need a quiet place to work on extra homework or study. Some of our students sign up when their parents can't help them with a certain subject, and some have joined us on Saturday morning when they are trying to catch up after missing a few days of school. Whatever the reason, everyone is welcome!

Ms. Troncozo Auld’s class spent part of the day learning vocabulary in a fun and interactive way! Students reviewed words through games like Bingo and kept the energy up with a fun, educational dance. To wrap up the lesson, students worked together to bring their vocabulary to life, adding clothing, facial features, and other creative details to life-size tracings of themselves. What a fun way to bring this lesson to life!
