One week from today, on 10/20 at 10:20 a.m., Woodland will conduct a test of our emergency alert system. All district parents/guardians listed as contacts in Skyward Family Access will receive a TEST email, text, and robocall to make sure you are getting the emergency notifications you need. Staff will receive the TEST message too.
We are partnering with Gurnee School District 56 and Warren Township High School; all three districts will conduct the same test, on the same day, at the same time, to raise awareness about the importance of keeping your contact information up to date. Please do not unsubscribe from these alerts!
If you receive the TEST message, no further action is needed. If you do NOT receive the message, we can work together to make sure your contact information is correct in Skyward.
🚨 This is only a TEST 🚨

It was so much fun seeing everyone enjoy the music, dancing, food, and art. We always have a wonderful time celebrating with our learning community!

With the help of Det. Hansen and Det. Parsell, students rotated through hands-on stations. They analyzed their own fingerprints, tested their memories, and practiced writing police reports using only the evidence they observed, and not what they thought happened.
What a cool way to see how police officers and detectives use evidence and their attention to detail to solve problems!

As Attendance Awareness Month comes to an end, we want to make sure attendance is a priority ALL YEAR LONG! We will continue to focus on helping our students be present, connected, and ready to learn!
Did you know that every Woodland school has a dedicated Family Coordinator? Meet Maria at WMS!
Maria Hristoforatos, Woodland Middle School Family Coordinator
Middle school is an exciting time filled with new experiences, new routines, and sometimes a lot to navigate. As your Family Coordinator, my goal is to be a familiar person families can turn to and help make the connection between school and home a little easier. Whether it’s an attendance concern, finding the right support at school, connecting with a community resource, or simply not knowing where to start, I’m here to help point you in the right direction. I’ve been part of the Woodland community for many years, and serving families in this community is especially meaningful to me. I look forward to getting to know your family throughout the school year and hope to see you at upcoming events!
