Hybrid Learning Update from the Woodland D50 Board of Education Meeting At the November meeting, Dr. Casey presented additional information about the Hybrid Learning Plan, current COVID19 metrics in the community, and answered additional questions about technology and building operations. The Board provided additional guidance about Woodland’s plan to safely roll students into the Hybrid model, but with dramatically rising case counts in Lake County, they requested more time to watch the data and see how the timelines for vaccine development progress before voting on the plan.
While the dates remain tentative, the Board of Education and the District Administrative team remain committed to bringing our students back as soon as it is safe to do so. We will keep moving forward with our planning efforts so that we are prepared to bring students back when the data allows, but we must also be flexible in our efforts to pivot as needed. A lesson we’ve learned time and again throughout this pandemic. The discussion will continue in December so I will be sure to share those details in a future update, and the learning model commitment date will be extended.
