SHIELD Testing for Woodland Families, Nov. 29

SHIELD Testing for Woodland Families, Nov. 29
Woodland has partnered with SHIELD to schedule a free, optional pop-up COVID-19 testing event for all District 50 families and community members. Students and staff currently have the opportunity to test using the SHIELD saliva-based test each week at their school. With a recent rise in cases throughout the Woodland community as well as Lake County, we want to offer a one-time testing event for families; we are hoping that our families take advantage of this opportunity after spending time over the extended Thanksgiving holiday travelling or reconnecting with family and friends. All test results will be sent electronically directly to the participant. The Illinois Department of Public Health and the local health department will also receive results for contact tracing purposes.

Date: Monday, Nov. 29
Time: 4:30 - 7 p.m.
Location: Woodland Middle School, Main Entrance and School Foyer

How to Participate:
Participants need to create an account through SHIELD Illinois to test at this event.

To do so:

  • Use this link SHIELD Portal and register for an account
  • Click “Sign Up for an Account” and create a username and password
  • Please use “agency code” qct6tvxg
  • Participants may then add any children as dependents to their account. Testing results will be sent directly through the SHIELD Illinois portal to participants who test at this event

To help ensure a usable sample, please do not eat, drink (including water), smoke, chew anything or brush your teeth at least 30 minutes prior to testing.

By participating in this event, you will be supporting Woodland’s COVID-19 mitigation strategies and efforts to keep our families and community members safe; you will also be able to see how quick, painless, and effective SHIELD testing is for our students and staff.
