Planning Underway for the Annual Holiday Food Drive!

Planning Underway for the Annual Holiday Food Drive!

Woodland Schools are hosting a holiday food drive to help children in our schools and their families. This is an annual tradition and the entire district gets involved to make it a successful event.

The holidays can be a stressful time of year for families living in poverty, and this is a reality for many of our Woodland students. We expect the need to be even greater this year thanks to the difficult year we’ve had. The annual food drive is the district’s way of bringing our community together and providing additional support to Woodland families during the holiday season.

This year, the event will look different due to COVID19 safety concerns. In the past, students have collected canned goods and non-perishable food items and physically brought those items to school. Staff members typically help with fundraisers such as bake sales and other fun events and competitions to raise money for the food drive. This year we will need to rely on financial donations only. With your help we hope to raise money, and work with local partners to purchase and assemble the food packages and other needed items for our families.

Two ways to participate!

  • Donate: Your donation will go toward purchasing food and other needed items for Woodland families. Please use this link to donate.

  • Receive a Food Package: Woodland families are invited to self-register if they wish to receive a food basket, or you can nominate someone who may need additional support. Please use this form to register.

Please review the Holiday Food Drive flyer in English / Spanish for more information.

Watch for more opportunities to get involved such as “Book with an Educator” to replace the “Shop with an Educator” event from previous years. Woodland staff volunteers will be signing up to read books and bedtime stories virtually!
