Volunteer Opportunities

  • Woodland offers parents and community members many opportunities to volunteer. In addition to helping at a school or in the classroom, volunteers are always needed with our parent organizations and at each school's Family School Partnership.

Parents who wish to volunteer in our schools are always welcome.  All families, as part of the learning community, have a very beneficial impact on the education of Woodland students. While the involvement of community members during the school day is vital to the school's success, equally important is the safety of students.

All staff members and temporary service individuals submit to a background check through the Illinois State Police. Volunteers are now asked to give permission for random background checks.  All volunteers who will be helping students in the school or anywhere in the learning community must complete the application for a background check.  The purpose of the check is to increase student safety.

This application is available by clicking the link below. Download and complete the application, print it out, and send it to your child's principal.  (The application is also available in the Parent Student Handbook.)  Each principal will then randomly determine applications to be submitted for the background check.  Contact the school principal if you have questions.
