The Communications Department is responsible for sustaining the district's mission to support student learning, teaching and achievement at Woodland. This includes Woodland community, business, media and staff relations; publications, press releases and special events. The department also oversees website management. In addition, it serves as the district's liaison with the Woodland Educational Foundation.

The Communications Manager is also responsible for chairing the district's External Community Committee, made up of staff, parents and community members. The focus of the committee is to support the district's External Community goal as part of the Strategic Plan.
