Elementary Secondary Education Act of 1965 Title Grants

  • Title I - Support of Low Performing Students

    Woodland has been allocated $514,000 for the Federal for the support of low performing students.  Excluding required district "set asides" all funds are allocated to the Primary School to help our youngest students.  For 2017 - 2018 the majority of Title I funding is used for the salary and benefits of three Kindergarten Plus teachers, a Kindergarten Literacy Specialist, a WELE teacher and two paraprofessionals. Title I funds also pay for salary and benefits for the Early Start program to support incoming and outgoing Kidnergarten students in the summer.   District set asides for purchasing homeless students supplies and parent involvment are also part of Title I grant.  A portion of Title I funds follow low income Woodland students attending private schools as well.

    Title II - Teacher Quality

    Woodland is allocated $131,000 for the training and professional development of the teachers at Woodland in 2017 - 2018.  This year the majority of the funding is used to pay for training in Google Apps for Education, the NCTM national conference, PBIS training including Restorative Circles, Intercultural Communication training and other academic and socio-emotional trianing for our teachers.  A portion of Title II funds support private schools within district boundaries.

    Title III - Support of English Language Learners

    Woodland recieves $134,000 in Title III funding for the support of English Language Learners (ELs) in 2017 - 2018. The majority of this fuding goes toward the salary and benefits of six paraprofessionals to suport the language and academic needs of our increasing EL population.  A portion of Title III funds support private schools within district boundaries.
