Developing the 2018-2023 Strategic Plan:
A Detailed History Including a Timeline of Events and Community Engagement OpportunitiesAugust 2017: Board of Education members interview potential facilitators.
August 27, 2017: Board of Education hires RJM Consulting Services, Dr. Bob Madonia, to facilitate the strategic planning process.
September 21, 2017: Board of Education meets with Dr. Madonia, to develop the focus areas of study and mission and vision statements.
September 22-October 5, 2017: Develop the strategic long-range planning survey to collect input from stakeholders on the focus areas of study which include student Learning, student well being, finance and facilities, staff recruitment and development, and community relations/district pride.
October 10-24, 2017: Strategic long-range planning survey is open for stakeholder feedback.
October 10 and 18, 2017: Conduct focus group meetings with various stakeholder groups to solicit ideas on focus areas of study. Stakeholder groups include: students, staff, parent organizations: PTA leadership, music boosters, Bilingual Parent Advisory Council, Woodland Educational Foundation, administration and union leadership.
October 19, 2017: Meet with the Board of Education and administration to be trained to facilitate the individual focus areas of study for the long-range strategic planning community committee.
November 27 and 28, 2017: Two evening planning sessions scheduled with the long-range strategic planning community committee.
December, 2017/January, 2018: Action plans developed by the administration.
January 25, 2018: Strategic planning document presented to Board of Education for consideration.
February 22, 2018: Board of Education adopts the 2018-2023 Long-Range Strategic Plan.
