Prescription Drug Vendor Change for all PPO Medical Plan Participants effective January 1, 2010.

Prescription drug benefits will be administered by Medco. Medco is one of the country’s leading pharmacy benefit managers, with a comprehensive retail network and an easy-to-use mail order service.

This change will not affect the drugs covered by your current plan or your prescription copays. However, starting January 1, you will need to use a different card when you pick up prescriptions, and you will need to submit your mail order prescriptions to a new address.

Information on your current prescriptions and refill allowances will be transferred from Benescript to Medco, so you will not need to get new prescriptions unless you are out of refills or a prescription has expired.

Your new prescription card will be mailed to your home in mid-December, along with a new mail order claim form. You will also receive information on some of Medco’s optional programs, and instructions for using Medco’s website.

You should continue to use your current drug card through December 31, 2009. Please be sure to use your new Medco card for any retail prescriptions you fill on or after January 1, 2010.

If you need a refill of a current mail order prescription, please order it as soon as possible to ensure that the order is processed before December 31. If you receive a new prescription for a maintenance medication in December, ask your doctor for two prescriptions: a 30-day prescription you can fill at a retail pharmacy, and a 90-day prescription you can submit to Medco’s mail order service after January 1.
